Why European Teams Choose Us

Built for Europe, not retrofitted

Primary platform storage is in Germany; monitoring execution is kept distinct and transparent.

EU Data Residency

Primary application data and local backups are stored in Germany (EU). Monitoring checks can execute in selected regions worldwide.

GDPR-Compliant by Design

Built from the ground up around European privacy principles — not retrofitted to comply.

European Primary Hosting

The primary application and database run on German infrastructure. Distributed monitoring uses additional regional infrastructure.

Zero Third-Party Tracking

No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixels, no ad networks on any page.

Transparent EUR Pricing

Simple plans, no hidden fees, no per-seat pricing traps. Billed in EUR.

Independent & Bootstrapped

No VC funding, no pressure to sell or monetise your data. We answer to customers, not investors.

Data Residency

Primary storage in the EU, other processing disclosed

Persistent platform storage, email processing, and monitoring execution use different locations. We describe each instead of presenting the service as EU-only processing.

Server Location

Primary server in Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช, within the EU.

Data Storage

The primary database and local backups are stored in Germany. Monitoring results return to the central platform.

Distributed Monitoring

Checks can run outside the EEA. Monitoring nodes process the target and check configuration needed to execute a check, may cache monitor configuration or queue results locally, and return results centrally. See Subprocessors.

Email Processing

First-party email delivery runs on Stalwart (mail.statuspage.me) on Contabo in Germany. mail-api.brka.io persistently stores complete email addresses for deliverability checks; it is currently hosted in the United Kingdom and is expected to move to Germany by 28 September 2026. Brevo provides additional delivery where applicable.

Privacy

Privacy-first approach

We don’t just comply with GDPR — we embrace it as a design principle.

Minimal Cookies

Only essential authentication cookies. No tracking cookies, no cookie consent banner needed for third-party analytics.

IP Hashing

IP addresses are SHA256-hashed before storage. We never store raw IPs in our application database.

Auto-Deletion

Account data is automatically purged 60–90 days after closure. No data hoarding.

For full details, see our Privacy Practices and Privacy Policy.

Who We Are

Small team, big principles

StatusPage.me is operated by a small, independent team based in Serbia ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ธ, with primary platform infrastructure and first-party email delivery hosted in Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช, and monitoring nodes in selected regions worldwide. mail-api.brka.io persistently stores complete email addresses for deliverability checks; it is currently hosted in the United Kingdom and is expected to move to Germany by 28 September 2026.

We are bootstrapped — not funded by venture capital. This means we answer to our customers, not investors. There is no pressure to grow at all costs, harvest data, or sell the company to a US acquirer.

Our business model is straightforward: we build a product and charge for it. Your data is not our product. Primary platform data remains in Germany; email and monitoring locations are disclosed separately.

Compliance & Legal

Everything you need for EU compliance

Built to meet the requirements your legal team actually asks about.

GDPR Controls

Product controls for data minimization, erasure requests, and data portability, with public privacy and processing documentation.

Data Processing Agreement

We offer a DPA for customers who need one. Read the DPA →

Sub-processors

Transparent list of sub-processors. We minimise the number of third parties that touch your data.

Security Practices

TLS for public traffic, AES-256-GCM for selected sensitive application secrets, Argon2id password hashing, regular backups, and audit logging. See our Security page.
