Data Storage
The primary database and local backups are stored in Germany. Monitoring results return to the central platform.
Distributed Monitoring
Checks can run outside the EEA. Monitoring nodes process the target and check configuration needed to execute a check, may cache monitor configuration or queue results locally, and return results centrally. See Subprocessors.
Email Processing
First-party email delivery runs on Stalwart (mail.statuspage.me) on Contabo in Germany. mail-api.brka.io persistently stores complete email addresses for deliverability checks; it is currently hosted in the United Kingdom and is expected to move to Germany by 28 September 2026. Brevo provides additional delivery where applicable.

Minimal Cookies
Only essential authentication cookies. No tracking cookies, no cookie consent banner needed for third-party analytics.
IP Hashing
IP addresses are SHA256-hashed before storage. We never store raw IPs in our application database.
Auto-Deletion
Account data is automatically purged 60–90 days after closure. No data hoarding.

We are bootstrapped — not funded by venture capital. This means we answer to our customers, not investors. There is no pressure to grow at all costs, harvest data, or sell the company to a US acquirer.
Our business model is straightforward: we build a product and charge for it. Your data is not our product. Primary platform data remains in Germany; email and monitoring locations are disclosed separately.
