Status Page Settings Snapshots
If your status page had premium settings before a downgrade, StatusPage.me can keep a saved snapshot of those values so you do not have to rebuild everything manually after you upgrade again.
The snapshot workflow is designed to help you compare what you had before with what is active now, then restore only the parts you want.
When You See a Settings Snapshot
You may see a green Previous Settings Available! banner at the top of the status page settings screen after your plan changed and some premium settings were disabled.
The banner means StatusPage.me has a saved copy of your previous premium configuration for that status page.
This is most relevant after:
- a downgrade to Free
- a canceled subscription reaching the end of its billing period
- a trial expiring and moving to a lower plan
- upgrading again and wanting to restore what you had before
For the full downgrade behavior, see What Happens When You Downgrade or Cancel.
How to Review Saved Settings
- Open Status Pages in your dashboard.
- Select the status page you want to review.
- On the settings screen, click Review and restore them in the green banner.
StatusPage.me opens a comparison dialog that shows:
- the setting name
- the saved value from the snapshot
- the current value on the page
- a checkbox so you can choose exactly which settings to restore
This lets you restore only the items you want instead of replacing everything at once.
How Restore Works
In the restore dialog you can:
- use Select All to restore every listed setting
- use Deselect All to clear the list and pick manually
- restore only a subset of settings
When you click Restore Selected:
- StatusPage.me applies only the checked fields.
- A success message appears.
- The page reloads so you can see the updated configuration.
If there are no differences between the saved snapshot and the current settings, the dialog shows No Changes instead of performing a restore.
What Kinds of Settings Can Be Restored
The exact diff depends on which premium settings were previously active on that status page.
Common examples include:
- premium appearance settings
- branding-related values
- access-control settings
- other status-page options that were disabled when your plan changed
The restore dialog always reflects the actual fields available for that page at the time you open it.
If you are specifically re-enabling branding and layout choices, see Branding Your Status Page.
Dismissing the Banner
You can close the snapshot banner if you do not want to restore anything right now.
Dismissing the banner removes it from the page so it does not keep interrupting your workflow.
If you are not sure whether to restore something yet, review the differences first so you know what is still available.
Best Practices
- Review the comparison before restoring everything blindly.
- Restore the most important settings first if you are reactivating a page in stages.
- Check your public page after restoring branding, private access, or embed-related settings.
- If a custom domain was inactive for a while, confirm DNS is still correct after you restore related configuration.
FAQ
Q: Does restoring a snapshot overwrite every setting?

Q: Can I restore settings if nothing changed?

Q: Is this only for status pages?
A: This article covers the status page settings snapshot flow shown on the status page settings screen.
Q: Do snapshots replace upgrading?
A: No. Snapshots help restore saved values after plan changes, but the related premium features still depend on your current plan.
