Closing Your Account

If you no longer want to use StatusPage.me, you can close your account from the dashboard.

Closing your account is a soft-delete: we mark the account as closed and start a 60-day grace period before permanent deletion.

πŸ’‘ If you closed your account by accident, see: Reactivating an Account During the Grace Period.

Before You Close

  • Export your data if you want a copy: Exporting Your Data
  • If you have a team, make sure you’ve saved any information you need.

How to Close Your Account

  1. Open the account deletion page in the dashboard (https://statuspage.me/user/account/delete).
  2. Optionally, export your data first β€” the Go to Data Export button opens in a new tab so you can export and come back.
  3. Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT in the confirmation box and check both required boxes.
  4. Optionally, enter a reason for leaving β€” this is private and only used to improve the service.
  5. Enter your current password to confirm your identity. If you have 2FA enabled, also provide your authenticator code or a backup code.
  6. Click Permanently Delete My Account and confirm the final warning.

Why is a password required? Account deletion is irreversible β€” requiring your password prevents a third party from closing your account if they access your browser session.

What Happens Immediately

When the close request is accepted:

  • Your account is marked closed (we set an internal account_closed_at timestamp).
  • You are signed out and your session is cleared.
  • If you have an active trial, we cancel the trial immediately.
  • If you have an active subscription (including a subscription trial), we cancel it so you won’t be billed going forward.

What Happens During the Grace Period (0–60 Days)

  • Your data is retained and your email stays reserved.
  • You can reopen the account any time by signing in.

What Happens After 60 Days

After the grace period, we permanently delete your data and release your email so you can register again.
