Our European Monitoring Network Expands to Sofia, Madrid, and Stockholm

Three more European monitoring regions are now live:

CityCountryRegion code
SofiaBulgariaeu-east-bg
MadridSpaineu-west-es
StockholmSwedeneu-north-se

They bring StatusPage.me to 15 active monitoring regions and make Europe a denser, more deliberate part of our monitoring network.

More independent viewpoints across Europe

Monitoring becomes more useful when checks are not concentrated in a small number of nearby locations following similar network paths.

Madrid, Stockholm, and Sofia add independent viewpoints across western, northern, and southeastern Europe. A service may be reachable normally from one part of the continent while users elsewhere encounter routing, connectivity, or regional infrastructure problems.

A broader set of monitoring locations gives StatusPage.me more regional signals to work with when evaluating what is happening. It helps distinguish a localized problem from one that is visible across multiple independent locations.

For teams running services across Europe, that means more useful evidence from more parts of the network.

A denser European monitoring network

Europe is becoming an increasingly important part of the StatusPage.me monitoring network.

The goal is not simply to add more pins to a map. We are building a more geographically distributed set of monitoring locations and reducing dependence on a small cluster of infrastructure in any one part of Europe.

Sofia, Madrid, and Stockholm extend that footprint east, west, and north. They join our existing European locations alongside monitoring regions in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Australia.

If your plan supports multiple monitoring locations, you can configure them through the monitoring locations guide, including per-monitor region choices where available.

Building toward EU- and EEA-scoped monitoring

These new regions are also part of the infrastructure foundation for something we plan to introduce next: regional monitoring controls for customers who want their checks to run only from locations within the EU or EEA.

EU-only and EEA-only monitoring policies are not available yet. Today, the new regions are available as individual monitoring locations. The next step is giving customers finer control over the geographic area from which their monitoring checks are executed.

This is specifically about monitoring-location control. It should not be interpreted as a claim of GDPR compliance, data residency, or any form of compliance certification.

Stronger European coverage now, finer control next

Sofia, Madrid, and Stockholm are live today, expanding the geographic spread of our European monitoring network.

We are continuing to build out the European side of StatusPage.me, with EU- and EEA-scoped monitoring controls planned as the next step.
